I LOVE Fear Street!!!

Can You Keep A Secret is the story of how keeping a secret may be a matter of life or death. Eddie and Emma are two high school sweethearts, while looking for a way out of the town they live in. It takes a camping trip to Fear Street Woods with four of their closest friends in which they find a bag filled with money, for them to make a choice that will haunt them. When tragedy strikes the teens, the money being a key part of that tragedy and with mysterious dreams that Emma is having of a wolf, it all leads to a graveyard in a shocking ending that will leave you howling!

This is a excellent book in the new Fear Street series, yes I maybe a little biased since I do love anything R.L. Stine puts out! I have been reading his books since I was 7 years old and even though I'm 32 years old, I will never stop reading his books until the day I die. There is just something about Mr. Stine's books that will reel you in until the last page is read and having this new updated series for Fear Street is perfect for kids today!!

Thank You to R.L. Stine for writing yet another fantastic book in a series that I love dearly!!

Not good.

This was a pretty not great book. The plot was weird and SO predictable, making it a boring read. I also found it odd that the book dealt with YA subject matter but was written at a middle grade level. There really wasn't anything I liked about this book - the plot was predictable, the characters were unlikable, and the writing style wasn't engaging.

Great

I teach the concept of scenario planning to students in a strategy class, but I never found a book that explained it clearly and easily.
Now I have: this book has a completely practical focus and walks you through the process step by step. It's also a beautifully designed book.
I will test it out with my class in the upcoming semester.

A great book for university courses as well.

This is a great book; clear, intelligent and practical. I chose this book for an upper level Strategic Planning course. Students made great use of the material. I looked at a number of options for a text covering the scenario planning part of the course. No other book came close.

What is particularly helpful is the combination of conceptual, design and practical thought shown in the book's development. Scenario planning is often presented in ways that are either impenetrable or trivial. Theory and practice are well integrated here and there is nothing misplaced in that integration.

I recommend this book without hesitation.

A Proven Methodical Approach to Envision Plausible Futures

Woody Wade, an accomplished strategy consultant, has written a thorough overview of the scenario planning process. This book should be particularly beneficial to those with a limited knowledge of scenarios who need a basic understanding in order to get started.

Scenario Planning is organized into five chapters, with chapters 2 (how to develop a scenario), 3 (case studies), and 4 (Black Swans) being the most instructive. In discussing how to develop a scenario, Wade presents a 10-step process that begins with framing the strategic challenge, and concludes with how to monitor and write your completed scenario. The successful completion of steps 4 (defining either / or uncertainties) and 5 (generating scenarios) are critical to developing viable scenarios. As such, I was somewhat disappointed in that I felt Wade could have devoted a bit more space to explaining these concepts in more detail.

The chapter devoted to case studies is very beneficial as it brings to life the "how to" concepts presented previously. This section introduces the idea of using well-written and imaginative vignettes to convey how scenarios might play out. I particularly enjoyed reading the newspaper industry case study and the accompanying presentation of four very different and plausible futures.

As Wade cautions throughout the book, scenarios do not equal predictions. Rather, well-developed scenarios are a must have tool to help organizations develop potential strategic choices and direction. Indeed, I think a well thought out strategy can only evolve from the potential choices presented by developing multiple scenarios.

Scenario Planning is well written, practical, and entertaining to read. It's recommended for someone who wants to develop a basic understanding of the various considerations and steps involved in developing an informed look at possible and plausible futures.

Astra has a great sense of humor and a lot of times turns ...

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Astra has a great sense of humor and a lot of times turns it against herself. this is book 2 and if you have not read the first book, some things might be a little confusing. However, Astra makes up for it. She seems to be the perfect blend of light and dark in one person. She struggles to keep that balance, although when she loses her temper, it is can be very amusing such as this example: "damnable demon from the wrong side of the celestial tracks!" Great characters, great storytelling, just the right mix of mystery to keep things interesting. Fantastic read. Enjoy!

The laughs continue

Poor Astra. She keeps getting transported from place to place without her okay. The humor in this book is as good as the first in the series. As I said in my review of book one, this is not a genre I usually read, but Ms. Cheever's witty writing keeps me turning the pages. I plan on finishing the series just to appreciate the interplay between characters. If a reader enjoys the humor in Janet Evanovich's books, I'd recommend giving this series a try.

More and more trouble....What more can you ask for in book two?

I truly am loving this fun series of Angels, Demons, and Halflings. Hopefully the next one comes out sooner than later ;) So glad I popped a bag of popcorn to read this one in one sitting! This is a must grab a snack first before you dive in reading. You won't want to get it.

Dialle and Astra Q are an awesome combo together. Astra Q is a great leading female character as wells. She's a feisty one with a great sense of humor. Too bad there in a bit of a pickle in this book with family drama and the whole taking people as hostages thing. But the canter between the two is quite amusing throughout this whole book even with there dealing with all sorts of nasty paranormal creatures.

This is another great installment to the series and starts off right where the first one ends about so it's best to read in order. This book would be great for paranormal fans for sure and this cover is just gorgeous. Glad it got a reboot :)

I've always been fascinated by the three men rescued from crosses at Tekoa, too. Since only one survived, it surely would have been a seeming miracle to those in the vicinity. As the story spread, it became apocryphal, steeped as it was in messianic and apocalyptic times. Given the overwhelming numbers of other coincidental episodes that link Josephus, the gospels, and the Essenes, Vermeiren's hypothesis about the retrograde chronology of Christian origins is completely plausible and fascinating to boot. A must read!
